Desert Rose is her pseudonym name, and she believes, like the Crystal, that her art provides thought-provoking mental clarity for scatterbrains alike. Shondra La'toya Raquel is a veritable jack of all trades. Outside of her professional life as a finance and accounting professional, mommy, and wife, she runs her own business, MomQu's Essentials LLC, which provides nourishment for the mind, body, and spirit, and The MRS Project, also known as MomQus Raising Supremes, which instills in youth/adult entrepreneurship and self empowerment.
Her artistic side began when she was eight years old, when she began honing her craft of styling hair, designing clothes for her barbies, building and designing her own barbie homes, and composing poetry. She educates underprivileged youth and creates anything from acrylic painting, mixed art, graffiti, and dancing as a hobby and personal fulfillment. Desert Rose has no formal art training and designs pieces based on intuition and resources that she sees life and inspiration in (usually found on the street or at an uninhabited house). She has always enjoyed feeling different textures and creating life from those things that would normally be overlooked. Desert Rose has a bachelor's degree in finance and an MBA in business management. She has always enjoyed creating and has a profound respect for a variety of Artist approaches. She is an outdoor enthusiast and adventurer, a foodie, a blogger, and the host of "Memoirs of a Mother Queen, Uncensored!" podcast. She is also the author of two collaboration books, She is THE ISH and This Is My Superpower, as well as Dreamsteere Academe' from Dreamers to Visionaries, and soon to be featured on front cover of iWIN Global Magazine in December of 2023. Additionally, she has the 2018 State and National titles of Mrs. Grand Canyon Plus America 2018 and Mrs. West Palm Beach Plus America 2023.
Desert Rose's purpose is to continue enlightening others and serving as a beacon for motivating and growing character and self-confidence through written expression and creativity!
